Saturday marked a busy night around the Ontario Hockey League. It also saw a lengthy winning-streak continue.
In St. Catharines, Connor Brown scored three goals as the Erie Otters blanked the Niagara IceDogs 6-0 for their 11th straight win. Goaltender Oscar Dansk made 28 shots for the shutout. Jake Evans, Kyle Pettit and Dylan Strome also scored for Erie while Troy Donnay and Connor McDavid set up two goals each. Niagara goaltender Christopher Festarini stopped 31 shots in the loss.
In Belleville, goaltender Charlie Graham made 48 saves as the Belleville Bulls beat the North Bay Battalion 4-3. Remi Elie had two goals and an assist for the Bulls in the win. Aaron Berisha chipped in with a goal and an assist while David Tomasek also scored in the win. Barclay Goodrow, Nick Paul and Alex Henriksson scored for North Bay in the loss.
In Oshawa, Daniel Altshuller made 38 saves as the Oshawa Generals beat the Kingston Frontenacs 4-1. Cole Cassels and Michael Dal Colle had a goal and an assist each for Oshawa while Jacob Busch and Colin Suellentrop added two assists each. Sam Hardin and Scott Laughton also scored for the Generals. Matt Mahalak made 34 saves for Kingston while Henri Ikonen had the lone goal in the loss.
In Peterborough, Joseph Blandisi and Ryan Van Stralen had two goals and two assists each as the Ottawa 67’s doubled up the Peterborough Petes 8-4. Brett Gustavsen had two goals and an assist while Travis Konecny set up three goals in the win. Goaltender Philippe Trudeau stopped 51 shots in the win while Dante Salituro and Tyler Hill chipped in a goal and an assist each. Steven Lorentz scored twice for Peterborough in the loss. Matej Paulovic and Eric Cornel also scored for the Petes.
In Sarnia, Nathan Pancel had three goals and two assists while Mathew Campagna had two goals and three assists as the Sudbury Wolves beat the Sarnia Sting 6-3. Nathan Cull had the other Sudbury goal while Ray Huether set up a pair of goals. Anthony DeAngelo had a goal and an assist for the Sting in the loss while Nikita Korostelev and Vladislav Kodola also scored.
In Windsor, Remy Giftopoulos had a goal and two assists as the Windsor Spitfires blanked the Owen Sound Attack 6-0. Kerby Rychel scored a pair of goals while Josh Ho-Sang set up two goals in the win. Goaltender Dalen Kuchemy stopped 16 shots for the shutout. Ryan Verbeek, Nick Ebert and Steve Janes also scored in the win. Goaltender Brandon Hope got the start for the Attack but was pulled after giving up three goals on 11 shots. Jack Finn stopped 20 of 23 shots the rest of the way.
In Saginaw, a four-goal second period lifted the Soo Greyhounds to a 4-3 win over the Saginaw Spirit. The Greyhounds scored three unanswered goals in the win. Sergey Tolchinsky had a goal and an assist in the win. Tyler Gaudet, Jean Dupuy and Andrew Fritsch also scored for the Greyhounds. Matt Murray stopped 38 Saginaw shots. Justin Kea scored twice while Terry Trafford chipped in with two assists for Saginaw. Nick Moutry had the other Saginaw goal.
