A busy Friday night saw seven games on the schedule, including three divisional games.
In Kingston, Barclay Goodrow had two goals and an assist as the North Bay Battalion beat the Kingston Frontenacs 5-1. Nick Paul chipped in with a goal and an assist in the win while defenceman Dylan Blujus set up two goals for North Bay. Mike Amadio and Mathew Santos also scored for the Battalion. Goaltender Brendan O’Neill stopped 33 shots for North Bay. Lawson Crouse had the lone goal for Kingston.
In St. Catharines, MacKenzie Blackwood made 31 saves as the Barrie Colts blanked the Niagara IceDogs 4-0. Cordell James, Andrew Mangiapane, Andreas Athanasiou and Kevin Labanc completed the scoring for Barrie in the win. Niagara goaltender Brent Moran stopped 18 shots in the loss.
In Sarnia, Bryan Moore, Nikolay Goldobin, Anthony DeAngelo and Nickolas Latta combined for 10 points as the Sarnia Sting beat the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4-3. Latta scored a pair of goals while Goldobin and Moore had a goal and an assist each in the win. Goldobin’s goal came on a first-period penalty shot. DeAngelo had a pair of assists in the win. Trent Mallette, Tyler Gaudet and Alex Gudbranson scored for the Greyhounds. Kevin Spinozzi chipped in with a pair of assists for the Greyhounds in the loss.
In Saginaw, Eric Locke had two goals and two assists as the Saginaw Spirit beat the Owen Sound Attack 6-3. Kristoff Kontos added a goal and two assists while Terry Trafford and Cody Payne added a goal and an assist each. Dylan Sadowy also scored while goaltender Nikita Serebryakov stopped 39 shots. Kyle Hope had a goal and two assists for Owen Sound while Kurtis MacDermid and Chris Bigras also scored.
In Guelph, Robby Fabbri had three goals and an assist as the Guelph Storm beat the Kitchener Rangers 6-3. Tyler Bertuzzi added a goal and four assists in the win while Ben Harpur chipped in with a pair of goals. Storm goaltender Justin Nichols stopped 35 shots. Ben Thomson, Brent Pedersen and Darby Llewellyn scored for Kitchener, Frank Hora added a pair of assists for Kitchener.
In London, Anthony Stolarz made 33 saves as the London Knights beat the Sudbury Wolves 4-1. Chris Tierney and Ryan Rupert had a goal and an assist each for London in the win while Josh Anderson set up a pair of goals. Matt Rupert and Max Domi also scored. Nathan Pancel had the lone goal for Sudbury while goaltender Franky Palazzese stopped 45 shots for the Wolves.
In Mississauga, Dylan Smoskowitz scored a pair of goal as the Mississauga Steelheads beat the Plymouth Whalers 4-2. Nick Zottl added a goal and an assist in the win while Bryson Cianfrone and Jacob Graves had two assists each in the win. Andrew Goldberg had the other Mississauga goal. Ryan Hartman had the lone goal for Plymouth in the loss.
