Just two teams were not in action Friday night as the Ontario Hockey League schedule saw 18 teams take the ice.
In St. Catharines, Andrew D’Agostini stopped 33 shots as the Peterborough Petes beat the Niagara IceDogs 3-2. Greg Betzold, Stephen Pierog and Eric Cornel scored for the Petes in the win. Brent Moran stopped 38 shots as the Niagara IceDogs. Anthony DiFruscia and Carter Verhaeghe scored for Niagara.
In Plymouth, Holden Cook had two goals and an assist as the Owen Sound Attack beat the Plymouth Whalers 6-4. Kurtis Gabriel added a goal and two assists in the win. Cameron Brace also had a pair of goals in the win. Zach Nastasiuk had the other goal for Owen Sound. Victor Crus Rydberg had a goal and two assists for the Whalers in the loss. Francesco Vilardi, Zach Lorentz and Carter Sandlak also scored.
In Sarnia, Erik Bradford had a goal and three assists as the Barrie Colts defeated the Sarnia Sting 7-5. Andreas Athanasiou, Mitchell Theoret and Jake Dotchin chipped in with a goal and two assists each in the win. Dylan Corson, Aaron Ekblad and Brendan Lemieux also scored for the Colts. Nickolas Latta had three goals and an assist to pace the Sting offensively. Nikolay Goldobin added a goal and three assists while Bryan Moore had a goal and two assists for Sarnia.
In Sault Ste. Marie, Darnell Nurse had two goals and an assist as the Soo Greyhounds beat the Belleville Bulls 7-5. Andrew Fritsch, Patrick Watling and Kyle Jenkins had a goal and an assist each in the win while Tyler Gaudet and Sergey Tolchinsky had two assists each. Jean Dupuy and Michael Bunting also scored for the Greyhounds. Brendan Gaunce had two goals and an assist for the Bulls in the loss while Aaron Berisha, Luke Cairns and Mark Raycroft scored for the Bulls in the loss.
In Peterborough, Steven Trojanovic had two goals and two assists as the Guelph Storm beat the North Bay Battalion 7-2. Scott Kosmachuk chipped in with a goal and two assists. Matt Finn, Jason Dickinson and Zack Mitchell also scored for the Storm. Hunter Garlent set up three goals while Tyler Bertuzzi added two assists. Brett McKenzie and Jared Steege scored for North Bay in the loss.
In Kitchener, Kerby Rychel had a goal and two assists as the Windsor Spitfires beat the Kitchener Rangers 5-3. Trevor Murphy and Josh Ho-Sang had two assists each in the win while Ben Johnson, Nick Ebert and Remy Giftopoulos also scored. Ben Thomson, Darby Llewellyn and Matia Marcantuoni scored for the Rangers in the loss.
In London, Oscar Dansk made 30 saves as the Erie Otters beat the London Knights 5-1. Michael Curtis scored a pair of goals while Andre Burakovsky and Connor McDavid added two assists each for Erie in the win. Dane Fox, Adam Pelech and Spencer Abraham also scored for the Otters. Max Domi had the lone goal for the Knights.
In Mississauga, Spencer Martin stopped all 40 shots he faced as the Mississauga Steelheads blanked the Oshawa Generals 4-0. Jacob Jammes, Jacob Graves, Dylan Smoskowitz and Bobby MacIntyre scored for the Steelheads in the win. Generals’ goaltender Daniel Altshuller stopped 24 shots in the loss.
In Sudbury, Franky Palazzese made 37 saves as the Sudbury Wolves blanked the Kingston Frontenacs 3-0. Dominik Kubalik, Nathan Pancel and Danny Desrochers scored for the Wolves in the win. Frontenacs goaltender Matt Mahalak stopped 38 shots in the loss.
