Another Friday night is in the books in the Ontario Hockey League with six games complete.
In Erie, Dane Fox’s goal late in the second period held up as the winner as the Erie Otters beat the Belleville Bulls 4-3. Fox had a pair of goals in the win for the Otters while Connor Brown had two goals and an assist. Connor McDavid assisted on all four Otters goals. Michael Cramarossa, Brendan Gaunce and Chad Heffernan scored for the Bulls in the loss.
In Sarnia, Brandon Hope made 34 saves as the Owen Sound Attack beat the Sarnia Sting 4-2. Zach Nastasiuk had two goals and an assist while Kurtis Gabriel chipped in with a goal and two helpers for the Attack. Gemel Smith had the other Owen Sound goal. Noah Bushnell and Nickolas Latta scored for Sarnia in the loss.
In Guelph, Robby Fabbri had the shootout winner as the Guelph Storm beat the Niagara IceDogs 5-4. The Guelph win came after Anthony DiFruscia scored his second power play goal of the night for the IceDogs at 19:49 of the third period to force overtime. Scott Kosmachuk and Tyler Bertuzzi had a goal and an assist each for the Storm while Fabbri and Brock McGinn also scored in regulation for Guelph. Goaltender Justin Nichols stopped 39 shots in the win. DiFruscia had two goals and an assist for Niagara, Brendan Perlini added a goal and an assist while Jordan Maletta also scored. Eric Ming set up two goals for Niagara.
In Kitchener, Sam Bennett and Spencer Watson had two goals and two assists each as the Kingston Frontenacs beat the Kitchener Rangers 6-2. Henri Ikonen had a goal and three assists in the win while Sam Povorozniouk also scored. Nick Maygar scored both goals for the Rangers while goaltender Tyson Teichmann made 36 saves in the loss.
In London, Scott Laughton scored three goals as the Oshawa Generals beat the London Knights 5-3. Generals goaltender Daniel Altshuller made 43 saves in the win. Jacob Busch and Michael Dal Colle also scored in the win. Jake Patterson stopped 38 shots for the Knights in the loss. Bo Horvat had a goal and an assist for London while Alex Basso added two assists. Max Domi and Matt Rupert had the other London goals.
In Sudbury, Mathieu Henderson’s power play goal 3:57 into the third period was the winner as the Plymouth Whalers beat the Sudbury Wolves 3-2. Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 43 shots in the win while Carter Sandlak and Francesco Vilardi had the other Whalers goals. Mathew Campagna had a goal and an assist for Sudbury while Nathan Pancel also scored.
