The first Sunday of action in the Ontario Hockey League regular season was a light one with just one afternoon game.
In Ottawa, Barclay Goodrow’s goal at 1:08 of the third period held up as the game-winner as the North Bay Battalion beat the Ottawa 67’s 4-3. Goodrow had a pair of goals in the win for North Bay. Vincent Praplan added a goal and an assist while Sault Ste. Marie native Mike Amadio chipped in with a pair of assists for North Bay. Matt MacLeod had the other North Bay goal. Travis Konecny scored a pair of goals for Ottawa. Brendan Bell set up a pair of goals while Connor Brown had the other Ottawa goal. With the win, North Bay coach Stan Butler moves into sixth on the all-time coaching wins list with 540. He passes Peter DeBoer (539).
The OHL schedule resumes on Wednesday night when the Saginaw Spirit host the Erie Otters. Thursday night sets up a busy weekend of action with three games, including:
- Peterborough vs. Plymouth (7:05 p.m.)
- Windsor vs. Sarnia (7:05 p.m.)
- Barrie vs. Owen Sound (7:30 p.m.)
