After a win over the Espanola Rivermen on home ice on Friday night, the Soo Thunderbirds hit the road for a short trip that saw them travel to Blind River to take on the Beavers.
The Thunderbirds continued their winning ways with a 5-3 win over the Beavers, marking their fourth straight win after losing their first road game of the season on Sept. 13 in Kirkland Lake.
Gavin Burbach scored three times in Sundayâ€™s win over Blind River Anthony Miller chipped in with a goal and an assist. Joey Miller had the other goal for the Thunderbirds in the win.
Brian Kment got the start for the Thunderbirds and stopped 23 shots.
Jacob Boisvenue and Zack Nadeau had a goal and an assist each for Blind River. Samuel Wilbur had the other goal for Blind River.
The Thunderbirds now prepare for a pair of games next weekend, beginning on Friday night when they travel to Elliot Lake to take on the Bobcats. The Thunderbirds then return home on Sunday afternoon to take on the North Bay Trappers.
