While some teams have already taken to the Soo Greyhounds officially open their 2013 training camp on Wednesday morning.
Players are set to register at 11:30 a.m. With four on-ice fitness sessions set for the afternoon. The team has 48 players, split into four teams, set to take the for the fitness sessions.
With 16 players in camp from the Greyhounds roster a year ago and the addition of overage forward Patrick Watling, competition for spots is expected to be high.
One veteran not among the returnees is forward Nick Halagian though the reason for his absence has not been made public.
The rosters for camp this week are as follows:
Goaltender: Justin Nichols
Defencemen: Kevin Spinozzi, Kyle Jenkins, Medric Mercier, Darren Brady
Forwards: Andrew Fritsch, Mitchell Dempsey, Dalton Barnes, Riley O’Connell, Jared McCann, Peter Poulin-Roy, Travis Campbell
Goaltenders: Adrian Clark, Brian Kment
Defencemen: Jake Behse, Jack VanBoekel, Alex Gudbranson, Colton White
Forwards: Tyler Gaudet, Dylan Mascarin, Grant Syrette, Chris Klack, Trent Mallette, Patrick Watling

After registration on Wednesday, all four teams will participate in 45-minute on-ice fitness evaluations beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Scrimmages begin on Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
