OHL Roundup: Knights clinch top spot

The London Knights officially clinched the Ontario Hockey League regular season title on Wednesday night marking the second consecutive season the Knights have done so.
In Owen Sound, Ryan Rupert scored the shootout winner for the Knights as they beat the Owen Sound Attack 4-3. Remi Elie, Bo Horvat and Josh Anderson scored for the Knights. Anderson’s goal came on a penalty shot late in the first period. Brayden Rose, Daniel Milne and Zach Nastasiuk scored for Owen Sound in the loss.
In Belleville, Clint Windsor stopped 47 shots as the Ottawa 67’s beat the Belleville Bulls 3-1. Sean Monahan had two goals and an assist for the 67’s in the win. Joseph Blandisi scored the other goal for Ottawa in the win. Ryan Van Stralen added a pair of assists for the 67’s. Alan Quine scored the lone goal for the Bulls.
Thursday night sees four games on the OHL schedule, including:
- Niagara vs. Mississauga (7 p.m.)
- Peterborough vs. Kingston (7:05 p.m.)
- Windsor vs. Sault Ste. Marie (7:05 p.m.)
- Barrie vs. Sudbury (7:30 p.m.)
Tuesday saw limited action in the Ontario Hockey League with just two games on the schedule. The schedule included a morning game between Plymouth and Saginaw.
In Saginaw, Tom Wilson and Vincent Trocheck had a goal and an assist each as the Plymouth Whalers beat the Saginaw Spirit 4-1. Matthew Mistele and Mitchell Heard also scored for the Whalers. Andrey Alexeev scored the lone goal for Saginaw in the loss.
In Kitchener, Ryan Murphy had a goal and an assist as the Kitchener Rangers beat the Guelph Storm 6-4. Frank Corrado and Tobias Rieder had two assists each in the win. Ben Thomson, Brent Pedersen, Derek Schoenmakers, Matt Puempel and Radek Faksa also scored for the Rangers. Zac Leslie had a goal and two assists for Guelph. Cody McNaughton, Tyler Bertuzzi and Andrey Pedan also scored for the Storm.
