North Stars advance to GNML final

The Soo North Stars are off to the great North Midget League final after a 10-1 win on Saturday night over the Nickel City Sons.

The win caps off a three-game sweep of the Sons by the North Stars.

Matt Pinder scored three times to pace the North Stars offensively. Jaron Rowe scored twice and set up two more goals for the North Stars. Jaren Bellini added a goal and three assists in the win.  Ryan Vendramin had two goals and an assist while Devin Shell also had a three-point night with three assists. Nick Trecroce and Nathan Hebert also scored in the win. Anthony Stefano chipped in with two assists.

Denver Ghent had the lone goal for Nickel City.

The North Stars will face the winner of the other GNML semi-final series between the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves and Kapuskasing Flyers. The Flyers currently lead the best-of-5 series 2-1 after winning game three in Kapuskasing on Saturday night. Game four in that series is Sunday in Kapuskasing.
