A light night in the Ontario Hockey League on Wednesday night saw just three games on the schedule, none of which had an affect on the positioning of the Soo Greyhounds.
In Guelph in the lone game involving Western Conference teams, Joel Vienneau stopped 38 shots as the Kitchener Rangers beat the Guelph Storm 5-2. Ben Thomson had a goal and an assist for the Rangers. Frank Corrado and Matia Marcantuoni chipped in two assists each. Tobias Rieder, Brent Pedersen, Domenic Alberga and Curtis Meighan also scored in the win. Scott Kosmachuk and Justin Auger scored for Guelph.
In Ottawa, Cody Thompson and Jonatan Tanus had two goals and an assist each as the Peterborough Petes beat the Ottawa 67's 10-6. Nick Czinder and Chase Hatcher had a goal and two assists for Peterborough. Brett Findlay and Nelson Armstrong had three assists each in the win. Michael Clarke scored twice as well for Peterborough. Eric Cornel and Stephen Pierog also scored for Peterborough. Sean Monahan scored twice for Ottawa. Joseph Blandisi and John Urbanic added a goal and an assist each. Brendan Bell and Connor Brown also scored for Ottawa.
In Mississauga, Kristoff Kontos scored a pair of goals as the Mississauga Steelheads beat the Kingston Frontenacs 4-1.Riley Brace set up three goals for Mississauga. Stuart Percy added two assists in the win. Dylan DeMelo and Dylan Smoskowitz also scored for Mississauga. Darcy Greenaway scored the lone goal for Kingston.
