Lakers swept at Bowling Green

The Lake Superior State Lakers hockey team suffered a pair of losses at Bowling Green over the weekend.
Friday night saw the Lakers drop a 4-1 decision before losing 7-3 on Saturday night.
On Friday night, Bowling Green goaltender Andrew Hammond stopped 25 shots in the Falcons victory. Robert Shea set up a pair of goals in the win. Dan DeSalvo, Ben Murphy, Brett Mohler and Dajon Mingo scored for Bowling Green in the win.
Domenic Monardo scored the lone goal for the Lakers. Goaltender Kevin Kapalka stopped 29 shots.
On Saturday, Mark Cooper scored twice and assisted on two more goals in the Bowling Green victory. Mingo added a goal and two assists. Mike Sullivan and Ryan Carpenter had a goal and an assist each. Bryce Williamson and Brent Tate also scored. Hammond stopped 27 shots.
Daniel Vernace scored a pair of goals for the Lakers in the Saturday loss. Dan Radke assisted on a pair of goals. Chris Ciotti scored the other goal for Lake State. Goaltender Kevin Murdock stopped 27 shots.
The Lakers now return home for four-straight on home ice beginning on Feb. 15 when they open up a weekend series with Alaska.
