The Soo Greyhounds were quiet as the Ontario Hockey League’s trade deadline passed at noon on Thursday.

The team had confirmed discussions leading up to the deadline but nothing materialized. The lone deal made by the Greyhounds in the days leading up to the deadline saw the team trade forward Mark Petaccio to the Ottawa 67’s for a ninth round draft pick in 2013.

Thursday did see some major names change teams.

The Peterborough Petes dealt veteran defenceman Slater Koekkoek to the Windsor Spitfires in a deal that saw them acquire forward Michael Clarke and a pair of second round draft picks.

The Petes also dealt, forward Alan Quine to the Belleville Bulls for draft picks in a deal that added another solid forward to the mix for the Bulls. The Bulls added offensively skilled forward Tyler Graovac from the Ottawa 67’s earlier in the week.

In the Western Conference, Plymouth Whalers made a splash on Thursday morning as they officially acquired forward Vincent Trocheck from the Saginaw Spirit in exchange for forward Zach Bratina and draft picks.

Trocheck was highly sought after heading into the deadline as one of the top forwards available.

One player with Sault Ste. Marie ties was among the final deals prior to the deadline as the Barrie Colts dealt forward Brendan Perlini and a draft pick to the Niagara IceDogs for forward Mitchell Theoret and a draft pick.
