Greyhounds complete minor deal

Wednesday, December 12, 2012   by: Brad Coccimiglio

The Soo Greyhounds completed a minor trade on Wednesday.

The Greyhounds dealt the rights to forward Greg Jambrosich to the Niagara IceDogs. In return the Greyhounds receive a conditional 15th round draft pick in 2015.

Jambrosich was cut by the Greyhounds in training camp and is currently with the St. Catharines Falcons Jr. B team where he has 11 goals and 30 points in 24 games this season.

The Greyhounds acquired Jambrosich from the Sudbury Wolves prior to the trade deadline last season along with Cody Mintz and a conditional fourth round pick in a trade that saw Michael Kantor and a conditional 15th round pick head to Sudbury.

Jambrosich had one assist in 14 games with the Greyhounds.

Jambrosich is expected to make his debut with the IceDogs on Thursday night against Erie.

In another deal, the Plymouth Whalers, who are in town on Wednesday to face the Greyhounds, dealt goaltender Darien Ekblad to the Saginaw Spirit in exchange for a 13th round draft pick.

!@# 12/13/2012 8:05:58 AM Report

you guys are both idiots!! Dubas is like Obama...he inherited a disaster...and now you want him to fix it in a year!! Even Obama had four years!! The way you guys talk you must either be hockey players or hockey parents....all talk but no concept of the game. No majic tricks here!! He is smart give him a chance and stay quiet!!

I agree.. it seems that everytime Dubas makes a decision know it alls as the ones above think it is wrong wrong wrong.. Torie had how many years to destroy our organization and make us the laughing stock of the OHL..but we kept him here year after year.. oh yes, it is an "age" thing.. and Dubas who has put quality players on the ice is constantly criticized for every move he makes..when handed something that is severely broken, like our team was, it takes some time to fix it. Took 10 plus years to destroy it, is gonna take a litte time to fix it completely.. why don't you seasoned and veteran coaches and GM's with all the answers put your grand resumes up and apply for the jobs since you all seem to be able to do things so perfectly and so much better.. We will have a team that rocks and it will be by years end..
