Greyhounds defenceman suspended
Thursday, October 18, 2012 by: Brad Coccimiglio
Soo Greyhounds defenceman Kevin Spinozzi has been suspended eight games by the Ontario Hockey League.
The league announced the decision this evening after reviewing a play against Sarnia last Sunday in which Spinozzi was given a major penalty for checking to the head.
The league released a video rationale in making the announcement.
“(The decision) is out of my hands,” said Greyhounds coach Mike Stapleton. “The league made a determination that they felt it was a check that was deemed suspendable.”
Spinozzi will be eligible to return to the Greyhounds lineup on Nov. 3 when they host the Barrie Colts.
