Thunderbirds doubled up by Trappers

NORTH BAY, ONT. – The Soo Thunderbirds wrapped up their three-game road trip on Sunday afternoon in North Bay.
The Thunderbirds dropped a 6-3 decision to the Trappers at the end of a three-game trip that saw the locals win the opener in Kirkland Lake on Friday before losing in overtime on to Abitibi on Saturday.
Brennan Dubchak had a goal and two assists while Cole Klippenstein scored a pair of goals for the Trappers in the win. Corbin Bean added a goal and an assist while Samuel Blanchet set up two goals. Stephen Langford and Ryan Brain also scored for North Bay.
Goaltender Greg Dodds stopped 27 shots for North Bay.
Anthony Butorac scored a pair of goals for the Thunderbirds in the loss while Joey Couture also scored.
Thunderbirds goaltender Steven Dombroski stopped 24 shots.
The Thunderbirds return home for a game against Kirkland Lake on Sept. 29. Puck drop at the Essar Centre is 7:30 p.m.
