St. Basil improves to 2-0 in football

The St. Basil Saints improved their record to 2-0 in senior high school football action on Friday night with a 41-11 win over Superior Heights.

Mitchell Mazzuca ran for three touchdowns for St. Basil in the win while running for 188 yards on 33 carries. Andrew Paluzzi and David Toppan caught touchdown passes while Aidan MacLeod also had a rushing touchdown for St. Basil.

Sean McGonigal caught a touchdown pass for Superior Heights, who dropped to 1-1 with the loss.

Action continues in high school football on Saturday afternoon when White Pines (0-1) takes on Korah (0-1)

In Junior action Superior Steelhawks defeated St.Basils 35-0 to make them 2-0.
