Sunday afternoon saw the North Stars open up a 3-0 lead before the game was six minutes old and cruise to the win. The locals broke the game open in the second period when they proceeded to score five times over a three minute span to open up a 10-2 lead heading into the third period.

“We were a lot better defensively (Sunday), than what they were (Saturday),” said North Stars coach Mike Hall. “The thing we’re most excited about is that we are getting scoring from all three lines. That’s what we were hoping when we put some of the kids together.”
Tyler Peters scored a pair of goals while Jake Staples and Eric Champagne had two assists each for North Bay on Sunday. Steven Leveque scored the other goal for the Trappers
“We came into town with the intention of working on a few things but unfortunately it got away from us a few times,” said Trappers coach Mike Reise. “When you’re playing against good teams and you make mistakes, they’re probably going to be in the back of your net and that happened in the second periods this weekend. We played well in the first and third periods of both games.”
On Saturday night, Rowe and Vendramin had two goals and two assists each for the North Stars while Pinder also had four points with a goal and three assists. Next up for the North Stars is a road game in Sudbury on Wednesday night before taking on the Nickel City Sons at home next weekend at the John Rhodes Community Centre.
