Second last week of racing concludes at Laird

Friday, August 31, 2012   by: Brad Coccimiglio

Thursday night marked what was likely the busiest night of action at Laird International Raceway.

One week after a wreck-filled night forced the postponement of four feature races, Thursday night saw all four of the postponed features run as well as the regular six feature on the program.

In the Super Late Model division, Chris Furkey led the way from start-to-finish as he took the divisional feature race. Furkey beat out division points leader Paul McLean (second) and Keith King (third). Furkey also won the heat race.

Other feature winners on Thursday night’s regular program included:

  • Nick Kozak (Laird Modifieds)
  • Cody McLean (Outlaw Modifieds)
  • Kyle Jarrett (Factory Stock)
  • Dustin Jackson (Xtreme Four)
  • Cody Champagne (Factory Four)

Laird International Raceway has one more race program scheduled as the LIR season will conclude on Sept. 8. Qualifying is set for 5 p.m. while racing will open at 6 p.m.
