Midget Black Sox split with Newberry

After a tough weekend in Midland, Mich. the Cambrian Nissan Midget Black Sox picked up a well deserved split against Newberry on Tuesday night.
The Black Sox opened the night with a 7-4 win before dropping an 11-10 decision in game two.
In game one, eight Black Sox hitters reached base, led by Eric Thornton, who reached base with three walks. Dominic Buonomo had a pair of singles while Jordan Pine had a single a double and scored a pair of runs. Collin McAuley walked twice and Coty Anderson had a single and a walk.
Jagger Madden had a pair of singles for Newberry while Darik Marsh had a single and a double. Kyle Welty had a single and two doubles in the loss.
In game two, Newberry jumped out to an 11-1 lead through four innings after scoring five times in each of the third and fourth innings. The locals cut the lead to 11-8 with seven runs in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to cut the lead to one.
Thonton had three more walks in the loss while McAuley hit a pair of doubles.
Marsh had a single and a walk for Newberry while Mitch Edison had a pair of walks in the game two victory.
The split came after the Black Sox were 0-4 in a tournament in Midland, Mich.
