Black Sox drop road game against E.U.P.

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI – The Cambrian Nissan Midget Black Sox continued their Great Lakes Baseball League schedule on Tuesday night in a tough way.
The Black Sox dropped a 13-2 decision in five innings to the E.U.P. Post 3 Travelers in the Michigan Sault.
Dominic Buonomo knocked in both runs for the Black Sox thanks to a single and a fielders’ choice. Eric Thornton reached base twice for the Black Sox with a double and a walk while Jeb Pallot also doubled in the loss.
Jared Clark paced the Travelers offensive attack with a pair of doubles, a single and he also reached base on an error late. Todd Hecht had a triple, double and walk in the win while Addison Kennedy chipped in with a pair of singles and a walk for the Travelers.
The loss came on the heels of a tough weekend for the Black Sox that saw them go 0-4 at the Greg Johnson Memorial Tournament in Escanaba, Michigan.
The locals opened the tournament with a 6-0 loss to DePere (Wisc.) Coty Anderson and Brock Berry had the lone Black Sox hits against DePere lefty Eric Grimmer.
In game two, the Black Sox dropped an 8-0 decision to Escanaba. Anderson, Berry, Scott Morphet, Colin McAuley and Jordan Pine had hits for the locals in the loss.
In game three, the Black Sox dropped a 14-0 decision to Ash-Port (Wisc.), considered the top team in Wisconsin legion baseball. The Black Sox could only muster three hits in the loss.
The Black Sox wrapped up the tournament with an 11-6 decision to Gladstone (Mich.). Jordan Pine homered in the loss and scored three runs while Barry had a pair of hits in the loss.
The Black Sox continue GLBL action on Wednesday when they travel to Newberry for a double-header.
