Black Sox 2-0 on opening day of Black Sox Invitational

The Cambrian Nissan Midget Black Sox are in a good position heading into the second day of action at the 2012 Black Sox Invitational being held locally.
The Black Sox picked up a pair of opening day wins on Friday, opening the tournament with a 7-3 win over the E.U.P. Travelers and they beating Sudbury 8-4.
Coty Anderson reached base three times in the win over the Travelers with a single, double and a walk in the win. Anderson also knocked in a pair of runs for the Black Sox. Collin McAuley also knocked in a pair of runs in the win with a single and a walk. Jeb Pallott also singled and walked in the win. Cody Yardanoff went the distance on the mound, striking out six in the process.
In the second game, Pallott pitched six innings and struck out four in the win over Sudbury. Eric Thornton had two singles and knocked in two runs in the win. McAuley also chipped in with two hits.
The final game of the night saw Gladwin beat Team North 6-1.
Action continues all day on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. The Black Sox are in action at 4:30 p.m. against Gladwin and then completing the day’s action at 7 p.m. against Team North.
