The Thunderbirds made official on Friday a deal that had been rumoured in recent days as the team acquired Sault Ste. Marie native Michael Caruso from the Yarmouth Mariners of the Maritime League.

Caruso spent his first season of junior hockey with the Thunderbirds in the 2013-14 season.

The move comes on the heels of a pair of recent moves by the Thunderbirds which included the addition of goaltender Mario Culina, who was reassigned to the team by the Windsor Spitfires and the trade of defenceman Matt Murray to the Blind River Beavers.
