The real and very pressing dilemma is the pending demographic shift. Both private sector and public sector employment will undergo significant transformation over the next decade as the boomers retire en-masse. And that will lead to tremendous stress on the health care system and significant labour shortages in all sectors, some more than others. If this province does not plan for this, the issues and rethoric in this election will pale in comparison to those of the 2024 election. But we'll hear the same thing. Cut corporate taxes, fire public servants, allow beer in corner stores. I truly wish political debate in this province and country would be a little more civil. I do not envy politicians in this climate and the expectations we place on them as saviours of all ills. It's just ridiculous that we place such demands on one person or party. But look at these comments. We, as a society, have made politics unattractive for all but the most thick-skinned narcissists. And we get what we deserve.
