My understanding is if it rings up at $1.02 then we pay $1. If it rings up at $ 1.03 then we pay $ 1.05.....simple enough. However I think the advertising ploy should change as when a product is advertised at 99 cents to make it sound cheaper than $ 1.00 because when you add in the GST the cost is $1.12 we pay $ 1.10 . But it would be to the retailers advantage to advertise the product for $1.00 then the cost with tax will be $ 1.13 and they can charge $1.15 . JMHO
