SMART Recovery (Self-Management and Recovery Training) is an addiction recovery support group that utilizes science-based tools and techniques to help people gain independence from addictive behaviour. SMART Recovery provides an alternate or additional resource to Alcoholics Anonymous/12-Steps. Like A.A./N.A. there are no fees, and facilitators such as myself are volunteers. As a trained SMART Recovery facilitator and Registered Social Worker with 25 years counselling experience, I have started a SMART Recovery self-help group in Sault Ste. Marie.
