Congrats to Graham Eagles for your wonderful article.
Well skipper you have obviously never attempted to assist a loved one with an addiction to seek help. You cannot just present yourself and get help. The waiting list are outrageously long, and you need to go away. When an addict needs help, he or she cant put their addiction on a wait list. When they take the plunge to quit, there should be immediate action and support. It takes a lot of willpower and courage to admit you need help, but then you end up falling thru the holes in our system. I waited for a long time, and had to call every Monday to see if there was an opening. Watching your companion writhe in pain from withdrawals is not only painful for them, but hard for their loved ones who want to find them help but can't. Open your eyes, there are so many people on drugs, lets help the ones who want help.
