Forget Thanksgiving turkey, Casey’s Grill & Bar gives thanks with steaks
Casey’s Steaksgiving raises money to support food banks in Ontario and Québec
MISSISSAUGA, ON (September 10, 2012) – This Thanksgiving put away the turkey platter and gravy boat and join Casey’s Grill & Bar in celebrating Steaksgiving – giving thanks with perfectly grilled beef.
From September 3 to October 8, the popular casual dining chain will donate $1 to the Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB) and Les banques alimentaires du Québec for each guest who purchases one of Casey’s famous 12 oz. New York or 16 oz. Rib Eye steaks in Ontario or a 12 oz. New York, 18 oz. Bone-In Rib Steak, 8 oz. Filet Mignon or Bison Medallions in Quebec.
Steaksgiving is part of Casey’s annual Feed the Soul campaign to raise money for food banks across Ontario and Quebec.
“Thanksgiving is a time to enjoy food and give thanks, but thanks doesn’t always have to be paired with turkey,” says Grant Cobb, senior vice president, Brand Management for Prime Restaurants Inc. “Steaksgiving is a modern twist on an important occasion. It lets us do what we do best – prepare mouth-watering steaks – while also helping those in need.”
“It’s hard to imagine that there are over 400,000 individuals, including 148,000 children, living with chronic hunger in Ontario alone, but that is the reality,” says Bill Laidlaw, executive director of the Ontario Association of Food Banks. “Casey’s Steaksgiving campaign helps us to raise awareness of hunger in the province, and will help us to provide more fresh and delicious food to Ontarians in need – just in time for Thanksgiving!”
“Corporate fundraising campaigns such as Casey’s Steaksgiving help us respond to the more than 1.2 million requests for emergency food assistance we receive each month from people living across Quebec,” says Zakary O. Rhissa, executive director of Les banques alimentaires du Québec. ”At Thanksgiving nobody should be forced to go hungry.”
Trimmed and cut to Casey’s exacting standards, Casey’s steaks are fresh, never frozen and always cooked to guest’s specifications.
All steaks are served with seasonal fresh vegetables, and guests’ choices of herbed forked potatoes, baked potato, fresh-cut fries or rice pilaf.
Steaksgiving is running in all Casey’s locations across Ontario and Quebec except its airport restaurants.
