Jayce needed little encouragement to take home first place in the medium size division at today's Bon Soo Foremost Dog Pull Competition.

Jim Garson, whose son owns Jayce, told SooToday.com that playing with the canine in the backyard and having him pull a light sled occasionally is all he does to train Jayce for competitions such as this.

He must be doing something right since Jayce had no problem hauling a sled that weighed approximately 500 lbs today.

It was amusing to watch owners use anything possible to encourage their pooch to tug the sled down the course, including treats, kind commands, sticks, and other dogs.

During our afternoon Bon Soo adventure at the Bondar Pavilion, we observed a number of families taking full advantage of both the bum slides and snow canoeing.

We enjoyed some lovely Filipino dancing under the big top thanks to the Sault College Marquee stage, and we even had a short visit from Mr. Bon Soo himself who was busy meeting fans and keeping an eye on the Snowmadness teams' snow sculpting progress.

Bon Soo continues with events and activities daily until Sunday, February 16 when the winter carnival wraps with the popular Polar Bear Swim at Bellevue Park.
