An important reminder from the good people at the Christmas Cheer depot, located at the former Sir James Dunn Collegiate at 1601 Wellington Street East.

All requests to receive Christmas Cheer deliveries must be called in by 12 p.m. Tuesday, December 10.

The number to call to place a request for Christmas Cheer is 705-575-9660.

Hard-working volunteers Marie Wood and Marg Irwin (pictured) were carefully packing toys for children when SooToday.com dropped by the depot Monday afternoon.

Donations to Christmas Cheer will be shipped out to sub-depots across Sault Ste. Marie beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday, December 19, and then taken to registered families for them to enjoy in time for Christmas.

Christmas Cheer depot convenor Dianne Marshall told SooToday.com that the depot will continue to accept used toys until Friday, December 13, while donations of food will still be accepted.
