OTTAWA - Statistics Canada says 512,300 people were getting regular employment insurance benefits in November, a number virtually unchanged from October.

The agency says the number of EI beneficiaries has been relatively stable since May 2013.

The number of people on EI rose in Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, with little change in other provinces.

In Prince Edward Island, the number of beneficiaries was up 2.4 from October.

Nova Scotia reported a 1.6 per cent increase in November.

In New Brunswick, the number of EI recipients was up 1.2 per cent.
