NewsAlert: Bank keeps interest rate at 1%

OTTAWA - The Bank of Canada kept its trendsetting interest rate at one per cent on Wednesday. In a statement, it added that it is likely to stick with its low interest rate policy longer than it previously expected, and lowered its forecast for economic growth by three-tenths of a point for both 2012 and 2013 to 1.9 per cent and 2.0 per cent respectively.
