Woman's body found in car in canal

The vehicle recovered yesterday from the waters of the Sault Canal contained the body of a woman, City Police confirmed this morning.

The following is the full text of the police statement:

***************************** Late yesterday afternoon a motor vehicle was removed from the waters of the Soo Canal.

Prior to the vehicle being removed it was determined that there was a body of a deceased female inside.

At this time foul play is not suspected.

Out of consideration for the family of the deceased, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service will not be releasing the name of the deceased woman.
