As of 6 a.m. this morning, 74,981,619 vehicles had crossed the International Bridge since it opened 41 years ago.

We've asked the people who run the bridge to provide SooToday.com readers with daily updates, because they're going to make a big fuss over the 75 millionth crossing.

Vehicle number 75,000,000 will drive away with a prize package worth more than $500, including getaway packages from Algoma's Water Tower Inn and Kewadin Casino, as well as 75 free round-trip crossings.

Here's how the numbers crunch this morning:

As of 6 a.m., we're 18,381 vehicles short of 75 million.

An average of 4,394 vehicles cross the bridge each day.

By our reckoning, that means the 75 millionth visitor could cross sometime on Monday.

But bridge traffic fluctuates day-by-day, so we'll keep you posted. If you put 75 million vehicles bumper-to-bumper starting at Huron Street, the line would stretch all the way to the moon.

Here at SooToday.com, we're hoping they never do that to us!
