Clement to CRTC: Rescind Internet usage cap or else

Media is reporting today that Industry Minister Tony Clement has stated that if the CRTC does not rescind it's recent decision to implement a cap on consumer Internet usage, the federal government is prepared to intervene.

Media is reporting today that Industry Minister Tony Clement has stated that if the CRTC does not rescind it's recent decision to implement a cap on consumer Internet usage, the federal government is prepared to intervene.

Minister Clemment made the announcement late Wednesday evening via Twitter.

Lobbyists claim a usage-based billing model will increase Internet costs for consumers and give larger Internet service providers, such as Bell and Shaw, an unfair advantage over smaller companies.
