The Anishinabek Nation has this afternoon called on its members to boycott EB Games because of the retail chain' problems implementing the HST point-of-sale exemption for status Indians, Indian bands and band councils.

The boycott call was issued this afternoon through the Anishinabek Nation's official Facebook site.

Anishinabek Nation represents 40 First Nations throughout Ontario, with a combined population of 55,000 citizens.

Also included in the boycott are SoftMoc shoe shops.

The province allowed retailers until September 1 to have their systems prepared to handle the change.

As of 4 p.m. today, the EB Games outlet at Station Mall was still not honouring the HST exemption.
