Traffic accident resulting in charges

Fifty-six-year-old Ann Marshall of Pictou, Nova Scotia was involved in a motor vehicle collision yesterday at 12:52 p.m. on Bay Street at Brock Street.

It is alleged that the accused was operating her Mazda car eastbound on Bay Street in a centre lane and then proceeded to make a left-hand turn onto Brock Street across the path of a Ford truck that was adjacent to her in the curb lane.

Upon impact, the Ford truck was forced across the intersection and struck a pole that was situated on the northeast corner of Brock at Bay Street.

The accused was not injured in the collision; however, the 44-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital by ambulance as a precautionary measure and then released with minor injuries.

Mrs. Marshall was issued with a provincial offence act summons for making an unsafe lane change.
