Anvil! The Story of Anvil
At 14, Toronto school friends Steve "Lips" Kudlow and Robb Reiner made a pact to rock together forever.
They meant it.
Their band, Anvil, went on to become the "demigods of Canadian metal," releasing one of the heaviest albums in metal history, 1982's Metal on Metal.
The album influenced a musical generation, including Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, that went on to sell millions of records.
But Anvil's career took a different path - straight to obscurity.

Funny Ha Ha
When you graduate college you easily sashay into the world of adulthood, start a career, and get serious, right?
Wrong.
Marnie has left college, but not her drinking habits and her bad taste in bad men.
What’s more, Marnie can’t seem to find a permanent job.
It would be sad if it weren’t so funny.

Empties
Czech literature teacher Josef unwillingly goes into retirement.
Instead of a peaceful family life he chooses a part-time job in a supermarket at the bottle-return counter.
The exciting new world that he creates there however leaves less and less room for his wife, Eliska, and she of course has no intention of getting used to it.
January 29
Know Your Mushrooms
This film follows uber myco visionaries Gary Lincoff and Larry Evans (two of the more expert and unforgettably mercurial characters in the community) as they lead us on a hunt for the wild mushroom and the deeper cultural experiences attached to the mysterious fungi.
February 5
In the Moment
This movie follows six high school improv teams on their journey to compete for the gold at the Canadian Improv Games.
Though the focus of the film is improv, the National Tournament becomes a dramatic backdrop for the bigger story about modern kids and their families.
February 12
Townes Van Zandt: Be Here to Love Me
The ultimate songwriter's songwriter, Townes Van Zandt had a profound impact on generations of musicians from Bob Dylan to Norah Jones, yet he avoided the commercial success enjoyed by many of his own fans.
Billy Joe Shaver calmly stated: "As far as I was concerned, he was the best songwriter that ever lived. And that's it."
Lucinda Williams called him "Too Cool to be Forgotten."
And Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Emmylou Harris have had number one hits with his songs.
