The Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone, Michigan has released the following notice about Claude Drolet, former general manager of Lajambe Forest Products in Sault Ste. Marie.*************************
GLADSTONE - Claude Drolet, 77, of 308 Ketcham Street, Gladstone, passed away Monday evening, Decemver 14 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Claude was born June 28, 1932, in Quebec City, Canada, the son of Raoul and Bernadette (Blais) Drolet.
He graduated from Laval University in Quebec, Canada.
He worked for McFadden Lumber Company as a cost accountant in Blind River, Ontario, and Weyerhaeuser Company in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, as an accountant and in sales.
He later transferred to Princeville, Quebec, as a general manager, J.W. Martin in Harcourt, Ontario, as a sales manager, Tembec Inc. in North Bay, Ontario, as a general manager, Lajambe Forest Products in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, as a general manager and Besse Forest Products in Gladstone as a special project manager and he retired in 2004.
He enjoyed traveling, cooking, eating fondue, good wine and French food, playing golf and poker.
Survivors include his wife, Diane, who he was united in marriage to on December 18, 1990, in Sudbury, Canada; son, Roger (Sue) Drolet of Ottawa, Canada; daughter, Kathleen (Dave) Spadoni of Sault Ste. Marie, Canada; brother, Jean-Yves (Claudette) Drolet of Quebec City, Canada; sister, Marthe Morisset of Quebec City, Canada; four grandchildren, Robert Drolet, Jake and Jordan Drolet, Shannon Spadoni; numerous nieces and nephews; and mother of his children, Lena Drolet of Sault Ste. Marie, Canada.
In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his son, Michel in 1998; sister and brother-in-law, Denise (Herve) Busque; and brother-in-law, Jacques Morisset.
Claude's family will receive friends on Sunday, December 20, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Claude Drolet will follow at 5 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating.
