For two years now, we've been tuning in to CTV News and seeing Sarah Konsmo reporting from Sault Ste. Marie.

That's all about to end, or at least change, this Saturday.

The popular CTV reporter has accepted a promotion that will take her to Sudbury to share the weekend anchor/ weather spot with Stephanie Bertini.

Konsmo will also be reporting on news in and around Sudbury three days a week.

"It's definitely a bittersweet move," Konsmo tells SooToday.com. "I'll be saying goodbye to my home of two years and I've established a great system here, made all sorts of friends and started a bunch of things that will be hard to stop and start again somewhere else. But getting a promotion is always welcome and I look forward to the new challenges."

She's seen in this SooToday.com photo with Simon Jones, CTV photojournalist/live truck operator.

Konsmo is trying to find a Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do or similar style of martial arts school in Sudbury to continue training she began with local instructor Darren Larose almost a year ago.

She's also trying to track down a new belly dance instructor, an oil painting teacher and a place to practise toastmastering.

Then there is her dog Tess, a four year old German Shepherd deluxe blend that Konsmo rescued from the SPCA after the dog was abandoned on the Nass Valley highway in Northern BC.

Tess just graduated and became an official member of the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Brigade.

Before Tess even got her first assignment, Konsmo was promoted to the Sudbury posting.

"I've spoken with the coordinators of the program here and and they have said there is a strong program in Sudbury so hopefully we'll be able to get in on that," Konsmo said.

The one activity Konsmo enjoyed in the Sault that she isn't very hopeful to find in Sudbury is Crossfit.

"I don't think they have a Crossfit gym in Sudbury and even if they did it couldn't compare to the one that they have here at Catalyst [Fitness]," she said. "It's just such a big and friendly community here that I will miss tremendously."

Just when she was about to master the pull-up, too.

Konsmo won her division in the 2009 Catalyst Games held at Catalyst Fitness this summer and she was progressing very well with her training.

Fans of Sarah Konsmo can tune in to CTV and watch for her at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. weekends, alternating with Stephanie Bertini starting on December 7.

You'll also be able to keep up with the many stories she'll be reporting on in the Sudbury area during CTV newscasts at noon, 6 and 11 p.m. weekdays.
