Nine people face drug, theft and firearm-related charges

Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Patrol Services, Emergency Services Unit and Investigations Services have arrested several persons overnight and early this morning in relation to an investigation involving stolen property, illegal drugs and firearms.

Nine persons are currently in custody.

Six adult males, one adult female and two male youths are facing numerous charges, including possession of stolen property, possession and production of illegal drugs and unauthorized possession of firearms.

The arrests were made at four separate locations in the city.

A male adult was arrested last evening at approximately 4:21 p.m. at a residence on Cathcart Street.

Another male was arrested at 1:45 a.m. this morning on Smale Avenue, and two male youths were arrested at 10:43 p.m. on Bruce Street.

The remaining five adults were arrested at 7:05 a.m. this morning at a residence on Albert Street East during the execution of a search warrant.

Numerous firearms, a quantity of marijuana and stolen property have been seized.

The identities, charges and court dates will be updated and released early this afternoon.
