Drug search warrant arrests

On the 6th of November at 3:47 p.m., members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services street team and patrol services executed a search warrant at Room 234 of the Days Inn, located at 320 Bay Street.

The room was rented and occupied by 24-year-old Christopher Duclos.

Also found in the room was 19-year-old Kristy Ann Barsanti of 53 Robin Street.

A search of the room revealed them to be in possession of 233.4 grams of cocaine, a digital (operational) scale, 3.9 grams of hashish, 1.6 grams of marijuana and a knife that opens with centrifugal force.

As a result, Duclos and Barsanti were each charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possessing a prohibited weapon.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $23,450.

Duclos will appear in bail court this morning and Barsanti will appear in court on the 7th of December.
