************************** Mother bear and cubs in Walls Road/Sunnyside Beach area
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and the Ministry of Natural Resources would like to alert residents in the Walls Road/ Sunnyside Beach area of the presence of a mother bear and cubs in their neighbourhood.
The MNR has been attempting to trap the mother and cubs but so far attempts to do so have not been successful.
Information has been received that the mother bear is apparently becoming increasingly aggressive in her attempts to locate food for her and the cubs.
Area residents are advised to take precautions to remove any food or other attractants which might draw the mother bear into contact with people.
If you see a mother bear and cubs in the vicinity of Walls Road or Sunnyside Beach please contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police at 949-6300.
