SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - (January 27) - DDI Seamless Cylinder International Inc. will cease operations within the next two months.

“Ceasing operations honourably while being able to meet all obligations to suppliers, employees and customers is the best outcome we could identify given our competitive situation and we regret the loss of jobs to our community,” said Laurie Masters, president and general manager of DDI Seamless Cylinder.

Nineteen people are actively employed in manufacturing and administration.

DDI Seamless Cylinder has reached an agreement with long-time customer and competitor Worthington Cylinders, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, to purchase most of its assets.

Worthington will manufacture the entire product offering from DDI Seamless Cylinder at its manufacturing facility located in Jefferson, Ohio.

DDI Seamless Cylinder International Inc is locally owned and operated.

The company has manufactured millions of pressure vessel cylinders at its Trunk Road location since starting production in the early 1980s.

Product applications include fire extinguishers, industrial gas storage, filter housings and a range of custom low-pressure air accumulators.
