One dead in Newberry crash. Police badly hurt

Twenty-three-year-old Michael Jago II is dead and two Michigan State troopers are seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash on the outskirts of Newberry, Michigan, TV6 News reports.

Twenty-three-year-old Michael Jago II is dead and two Michigan State troopers are seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash on the outskirts of Newberry, Michigan, TV6 News reports.

The crash took place at the M28 and County Road 403 intersection, approximately 50 miles west of the Michigan Soo, around 11 p.m. yesterday.

The state troopers, whose names have not been released, were driving a police vehicle.

Jago, the son of Luce County's undersheriff, was driving the other vehicle.

In another Upper Peninsula Michigan police development, identities have been released of the man and woman who died last Thursday in a domestic violence case.

Raymond Daniel-Kejuan Silas allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, Chelsey Lynn LaFernier, before being shot dead by State Police.

Both Silas and LaFernier were 23 years old.
