DETROIT - Greektown Casino-Hotel is now accepting room and meeting space reservations for 2009 and beyond, offering accommodations through special packages that combine luxury lodging, succulent dining and hot gaming action in Detroit’s newest casino resort.

The 400-room Greektown Casino-Hotel will open in early February 2009.

The hotel is also the best location to stay for fans attending the 2008-2009 NCAA Final Four basketball tournament at Ford Field.

The Greektown Casino-Hotel will feature 10,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space available immediately when the hotel opens.

Also, because many conventions and trade shows book a year in advance, Greektown Casino-Hotel is also accepting request for proposals (RFPs) for its Events Center scheduled to open in 2010.

The Events Center will be located on the upper level of the casino and will feature 15,000 square feet of meeting and convention space (a 10,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom that can accommodate 1,000 people and two 2,500-square-foot breakout rooms).

Rooms are available at affordable rates every night of the week and the special packages below as well as many other packages and special promotions:

- The Romance Package for two. Deluxe overnight accommodations plus breakfast in bed, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne delivered to your room on arrival, and Bath and Bodyworks sensual amber aromatherapy products. Price for romance and gaming action: $189.

- “Let the Party Begin” package for two. Deluxe overnight accommodations plus dinner for two in Bistro 555 valued at $50 and $75 in bonus play. Price for gaming action and terrific food: $229

- “Bed and Breakfast” package for two. Deluxe overnight accommodations plus breakfast for two in Bistro 555. Price: $119.

Greektown Casino - Hotel is also just a few blocks - an easy walk - to Ford Field, which will host the 2009 NCAA basketball Final Four April 4-6.

The opening of the hotel will mark the completion of construction on the permanent Greektown Casino-Hotel.

Total investment in the permanent Greektown Casino project will be about $550 million.

Located at 555 E. Lafayette Avenue in Detroit's Greektown Entertainment District, Greektown Casino-Hotel opened on November 10, 2000.
