Guy accused of taking chainsaw to wife's antique dresser

************************* A 36-year-old male was arrested on the 13th of April at 4:12 p.m. at a West End residence regarding several domestic-related incidents involving his common-law wife.

It is alleged that between November 2007 and the 31st of March the accused assaulted the victim on three occasions while at their residence.

During the assaults, the victim was punched, pushed, back-handed and choked.

The accused also threw a brush at the victim’s face.

The victim received non-life-threatening injuries during the assaults.

It is further alleged that the accused damaged an antique dresser that belonged to the victim by cutting it with a chainsaw.

The accused has been charged with two counts of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and two counts of mischief under $5,000.

The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.
