Sault College students head to the polls

SAULT STE. MARIE - The Sault College Student Administrative Council (SAC) has called for a student referendum in question of changing letter grades to percentage grades.

"This is our first campus-wide referendum in over a decade", noted Stefan Shynkorenko, president of the Sault College SAC.

The referendum will take place congruent to the SAC executive elections on March 20, 2008.

"If passed, the results will mean a clear student recommendation to the college on moving to numeric grades," stated Bob Wheeler, vice-president of communications for SAC.

"Alpha grades, like A's through F's, have been in use for decades at our college, and many believe that should change," added Wheeler.

Sault College SAC is the largest student association in Sault Ste Marie, representing 2,000 full-time students at Sault College.
