Chris Benoit, one of Canada's top professional wrestlers, was found dead along with his family today in the family's home.

Local officials in Fayette County, Georgia are currently investigating the deaths.

Benoit had reportedly canceled an appearance scheduled for tonight because his family was sick and coughing up blood. A two-time world heavyweight champion, Benoit was a veteran of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

"Benoit was consistently recognized by wrestling fans during his career as one of the best technical workers in the business," said local wrestler and wrestling promoter Big Daddy T.

"He will be sorely missed in the business by fans and wrestlers alike," Daddy T said.

"I only heard about this three hours ago - I'm still in shock - our prayers are with the family."

Benoit was a multiple winner of junior and tag-team titles, and several of his performances earned "Match of the Year" and "Feud of the Year" among the industry's recognized awards.

Benoit was trained as a professional wrestler by Stu Hart in the legendary Hart Family Dungeon.
