Some Sault College students found out yesterday what it's like to drive drunk.Well, not exactly drunk.
As part of the college's annual Alcohol Awareness Week, students at the Outback played a little game of driving a remote control car while wearing distortion goggles.
Wilcox, assistant manager of the Outback, is shown trying to keep his car on track while an event organizer looks on.
"That sort of thing is a bit problematic to simulate but I think this did make the point," he told us as he tried on the goggles, which distort depth perception and effectively simulate the slowed response time and perceptual distortions that may be experienced while under the influence.
"It's as valid as you can make it," said Wilcox.
Students participating in the event had a chance to win a frosh kit.
Other alcohol awareness week events such as a cocktail/ mocktail contest, a balloon ballot contest and Dance for your Turkey continue this week.
Thanks to Allison Bobbette from Sault College for the photo.
