Portia Perez found herself in a precarious position Saturday night at the Roberta Bondar Tent Pavilion.

The pretty 18-year-old was just going about her business there when some big ugly thug named Michael Von Payton picked up her five-foot-three body and started spinning it in the air.

This prompted another big person, one of indeterminate sexual status, to intervene to rescue her.

"Since you like to hit girls," Dustin Rhodes yelled as he rushed to help the struggling teen, "let's see you pick on one your own size - me."

Portia (pictured with Dustin Rhodes) is a professional wrestler from Ottawa who was in the Sault for the Canadian Independent Wrestling Alliance(CIWA)'s River Riot at the Bondar pavilion.

She'd signed on to wrestle the dastardly Misty Haven in a special woman's match that served as the curtain-jerker at last night's event.

But Von Payton, who is Misty's husband in real life and who wrestles under the stage name MVP, was also on the River Riot card.

When the referee got knocked out, MVP jumped into the ring and scooped petite Portia into an airplane spin.

That didn't sit too well with Dustin Rhodes, known to wrestling fans in Sault Ste. Marie and around the world as the sexually ambiguous former WWE superstar Goldust

Dustin rushed the ring, saved sweet Portia from the nasty newlyweds, then challenged MVP to face him later that night.

Full coverage of that and other matches, together with a big whack of SooToday.com photos, have just been posted in SooToday.com's sports section.
